Marti was born on July 28, 1940, in Gary, Indiana, as the beloved daughter of Frank and Selma (Berget) Rebeck. Growing up in a loving household, she experienced a close-knit family environment. During her childhood, her parents made the significant decision to relocate the family to central Wisconsin, where they settled in a quaint community known as Shantytown. This move not only shaped Marti’s upbringing but also instilled in her a deep appreciation for the beauty of the Wisconsin landscape and the warmth of small town life. Marti attended Rosholt High School, where she became known for her vibrant personality and strong work ethic. As a member of the Class of 1958, she formed lasting friendships and created cherished memories during her formative years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in honor of Marti at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at St. Peter Catholic Church, located at 800 4th Avenue in Stevens Point. This solemn service will be officiated by Rev. John Potaczek, who will guide us through this moment of remembrance and celebration of Marti’s life. Prior to the Mass, family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Shuda Funeral Chapel, situated at 3200 Stanley Street in Stevens Point. During this time, loved ones will have the opportunity to share stories and support one another as they honor Marti’s memory. A special Bible Vigil will take place at 7:30 PM, providing a meaningful moment of reflection and prayer. On Wednesday morning, the visitation will continue at St. Peter Catholic Church, starting at 9:30 AM in the Faustina Room, allowing attendees to come together in remembrance before the service begins. Following the Mass, Marti will be laid to rest at Guardian Angel Cemetery, a peaceful place where her loved ones can visit and pay their respects.
